RESOLVED: Users can sometimes no longer view content within the Blackboard Ultra View Courses folder

Update: The issue is resolved. Some users may be required to click one final link to restore access. Humber’s Panopto Support Team has worked with Panopto to implement a behind-the-scenes workaround to prevent this issue from reoccurring. Users who are not seeing content may need to click this link to login one final time to restore their access.

Update: Panopto has identified and confirmed the issue. Humber’s Panopto Support Team will be implementing a new workaround to prevent this issue from reoccurring. In the meanwhile, continue to use the existing workaround provided below.

Update: Panopto is continuing to investigate the matter. We will provide the community with updates as we receive them. Please read below for the issue and a workaround.

Active Issue: We are receiving reports where in some cases, users are unable to access the content located within their Blackboard Ultra Course Folder in Panopto. Humber has identified the cause of the issue, and has reported it to Panopto for further investigation. Users who are impacted by this issue may:

  • no longer see the *Blackboard Ultra View Courses* folder within the Browse section of Panopto.
  • only see one of your Blackboard Ultra courses within Panopto
  • experience a “You do not have access to this. Request Access.” or similar error when attempting to watch a video that was uploaded to a Blackboard Ultra Course folder within Panopto.

Impact: This issue impacts all users who are logged directly into Panopto via https://panopto.humber.ca. It does not impact the faculty and students who are viewing content that has been embedded into their Ultra courses using the official Panopto Embed tool. Most content is viewed this way and users who view embedded content through Blackboard Ultra will not be impacted by this issue.

Workaround: If you are experiencing any issues related to the above, simply ensure you are trying to access the content from within Blackboard Ultra. Alternatively, you may click this link to login and then attempt to view your content or access the folder again.
